2010 Outback - Motor Trend SUV of the Year

The all-new 2010 Outback is wider, taller and has a longer wheelbase for greater rear-passenger room.  Its cargo area has also been enlarged.  In fact, the new double-wishbone rear suspension has helped to widen the distance between the rear wheelwells - a real competitive advantage.  More efficient drivetrains, including the new Lineartronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), plus many new conveniences, ranging from available Harman Kardon audio to voice-activated navigation with Rear Vision Camera, add more appeal to this dramatically restyled sport-utility wagon.

  • Wider and taller, yet shorter in overall length, the new Outback is "right-sized  and responsible".
  • A wider track and longer wheelbase yield noticeably more shoulder and leg room inside.
  • Dramatic front end styling and taller tires give the Outback a more aggressive stance
  • The optional Touch Screen GPS Navigation System includes a Rear Vision Camera to make reversing easier
  • A new console-mounted shifter plus steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters are standard with either the Lineartronic CVT or the 5 speed electronic automatic transmission.
  • Multifunction steering wheel controls and a bright, new instrument panel display provide visually appealing information as well as convenience.
