Ramsey Subaru Shares The Love

  MEALS ON WHEELS:

The WesleyLife Meals on Wheels program delivers an average of 900 hot, nutritious meals each day.  The people we serve are Iowa's seniors who have worked hard all their lives but are now finding, as they age, that their resources are limited and the money they have isn't stretching as far as it needs to.   The services we provide go far beyond 'just a meal'. One of the key services we provide, along with a hot meal hand-delivered 5 days per week, is the safety check through our trained drivers who deliver the meals.   We feel fortunate to say that because of these safety checks, we have been able to help hundreds of clients over the years get medical attention in emergency situations before it's too late.   We are driven by our Christian compassion to serve others, and our passion is to help end senior hunger right here in Polk County!

PET PROJECT MIDWEST:

The Pet Project Midwest is keeping pets with the families that love them and out of shelters. Through The Pet Pantry and Paws for Life they provide food and supplies to folks who might otherwise have to give up their beloved pets during a budget pinch. With IowaPetAlert.com they use text, email, Facebook and Twitter to spread information in an effort to reconnect animal and owner.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS:

Special Olympics Iowa provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in 23 Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.  Most importantly, Special Olympics is not just "nice," but critical, not just as a sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities, but also as an effective catalyst for social change. Children and adults with intellectual disabilities who participate in Special Olympics develop improved physical fitness and motor skills, greater self-confidence and a more positive self-image. They grow mentally, socially and spiritually and, through their activities, exhibit boundless courage and enthusiasm, enjoy the rewards of friendship and ultimately discover not only new abilities and talents but "their voices" as well.  Your donation to Special Olympics will allow us to expand our services, to reach more athletes, to change more lives.

 HABITAT FOR HUMANITY:

Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity (GDM Habitat) partners with the community to build hope and a greater Des Moines.  In partnership we provide decent and affordable homeownership opportunities for qualified low-income families and focused neighborhood revitalization efforts.  Hard-working families are reviewed for partnership based on three criteria: need, ability to pay, and willingness to partner.  2011 marks the 25th Anniversary for GDM Habitat, by the end of the year Habitat will have helped make 168 dreams of homeownership a reality.  In addition to new construction and major rehabilitations GDM Habitat is focused on neighborhood revitalization through the Rock the Block™ program.  Rock the Block™ is a focused housing outreach approach that assists low-income residents with needed repair, maintenance, weatherization, safety, accessibility and beautification of homes.
